This work proposes two algorithms extended from existing steering laws which link conventional control moment gyroscope and recent variable-speed control moment gyroscope theory for the more general case of simultaneous attitude plus power tracking using a cluster of actuators. The first algorithm involves extending the Generalized Singularity Robust steering law, originally crafted for conventional control moment gyroscopes while the second algorithm supplements a variable-speed control moment gyroscope null motion law for simultaneous power tracking. Both extended laws are then compared to an existing attitude plus power tracking steering law with comparable results provided the gains are adequately tuned. This result shows the similarity of three vary different approaches to this simultaneous implementation, leading to more effective combined energy storage plus attitude control subsystems.
