Abstract

The application of the method of continuous ballistic discharge to the comparison of capacitances, and to the measurement of pressure difference, barometric pressure, wind velocity and resistance is explained. Instruments and circuits that have been developed for the various purposes are discussed and their characteristics described. The basic theory of the method is given together with the theory of the various developments. Also included is a short history of the method, together with that of closely allied methods. Experiments on some of the switching devices available are also described.
