An installation derived from the examination of a single guitar. Approached as both a cultural icon and a creative process, the guitar comes to be defined as much by its myriad relational connections with the world as by physical design. The project explores how we conceive a physical object, where relations between materiality and imagination conflate and confuse. It is an extended site-specific work reaching into the contrasting modes of understanding that exist within the university, and the ways they might expand our understanding of the guitar.
