Abstract

A class of social phenomena, exhibiting fluid boundaries and constant change, called 'collectivities', is modeled using an agent-based simulation, demonstrating how such models can show that a set of plausible microbehaviors can yield the observed macro-phenomenon.

Some features of the model are explored and its application to a wide range of social phenomena is described.
